Here they are arranged nicely on my bed, because that's where I decided to take pictures of them (the boys are strewn all about the couches watching Ninjago), and my dirty microfiber couches photograph even worse than they look in real life. But, my point is that the pillows will actually be found in our living room. Though, now that I see how adorable my bed looks with cute pillows, I might have to make some to match my room colors!
Like the Halloween pillows, I did some painting on fabric, and also used the cute burlap ribbon found at Hobby Lobby. I love that stuff. The red ribbon with little cream hearts was actually wired, but I just pulled out the wire after cutting the ribbon to the length that I wanted.
You can see some of the fun details in this picture...the rosettes (which are just ripped strips of fabric, twisted, and then hot-glued and rolled) and the cute ruffles. I have a love-hate relationship with ruffles; they are SO cute and fun and frilly and I absolutely love adorning things with ruffles, especially when I'm making something for Piper to wear. However, they are such a pain in the butt to work with! So much pinning and placing in the right spot. Many times seams are ripped out because I don't like how things look. See that small pillow with the ruffles on the ends? Yeah, that one, the smallest one, was the one that took me the longest to make. And I knew it would, so that's why I saved it for last! Ha!
I was going to go with a red heart instead of the red "O," but...I don't
trust my free-hand painting skills enough to do that, and didn't want
to waste time scouring the internet for clipart and then printing a
million times in order to figure out the right size. So a red "O" it
was! I still think it's super cute!
And there you have it! Seriously, making pillows is so easy. Straight edges! It doesn't get any easier than that! I don't measure anything, really, since I just stuff them all rather than buy already made pillow inserts, so I can make any size or shape that I want. And yes, I'm starting to have quite the collection of throw pillows. I'm sure it would be easier to make pillow covers, and change them out with the holidays, but....that just seems like too much work to me. So, I sew and stuff and I'm done!

Oh my GOSH, I'm so in love with those! They're ridiculously adorable. And I actually think they look great with your room...a pop of color!
I know you want to make some for me. I just know it. Full of ruffles. ;)

ruffles aren't that difficult. There is an easy way to make them.

No, ruffles definitely aren't difficult. They're just a little more labor intensive and tedious, if you ask me. But SO worth it! :)
